Developing their portfolio in the Student Accommodation sector, Walker Modular secure 60 Commercial Road, London. This site has an existing planning consent in place for the redevelopment of the site and creation of the student accommodation and retail scheme. Work is planned to commence in April 2013, with completion of the office building expected in late 2014 and the student accommodation building in summer 2015, for launch that academic year.
The student accommodation scheme will offer a range of studio rooms, and will also provide generous communal and amenity space. In addition, there will be a ‘sky lounge’ on the top floor, offering spectacular views across London. The location on Commercial Road is convenient for a number of higher education institutions, including the nearby London Metropolitan University’s City Campus and Queen Mary, University of London, in Mile End.
Walker Modular will commence production on this project in August and begin delivery in September.
