This student accommodation development consists of a 6 storey mixed-use scheme with circa 257 sq m (2,771 sq ft) of commercial space on the ground floor, and 5 floors of high quality student accommodation above providing 50 beds. The development will comprise red brick construction clad with elements of gold and featuring glazed window boxes, and will sympathetically reflect its surroundings within the historic Edgbaston Conservation Area. The development plans are to build on a site vacant for more than a decade with a six-storey development containing 50 bedrooms, the historic Calthorpe Estate will become the latest area of Birmingham to house new accommodation aimed at the city's growing student population. Walker Modular will provide all Bathroom Pods for this development which is set to open in the summer of 2017.
