Little more than a stone’s throw away from the local University, 333-337 New Cross Road is a student accommodation building offering housing to circa 63 students over the academic year. Consisting of 2 modern buildings, separated by a courtyard turned social space, this development is a refreshing sight on New Cross Road in comparison to the 2 aged, low rise buildings that originally stood in the space. Walker Modular Bathroom Pods will feature throughout the 2 constructs, which are 4 and 6 storeys respectively, introducing more desperately needed purpose built student accommodation into London. Additionally, the original retail space has been maintained, as the ground floor fronting New Cross Road have been designed as commercial space for 2 retailers, set underneath the student flats. On the whole, the design is wonderfully modern, and a fantastic use of space amongst the nooks and cranny’s of the English Capital.
